Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 5, 2026

This privacy policy describes how OOLEL-SARL ("Yoon", "we"), the company operating Yoon and Yoon Pro, collects, uses, shares, and protects users' personal data when they visit the info.oolelmaps.com and developer.oolelmaps.com websites, when they use the Yoon and Yoon Pro mobile applications, and when they access mapping, navigation, geolocation, messaging, ride, carpooling, and, where applicable, the associated developer services.

If specific terms apply to certain services, features, or platforms — in particular the mobile application, the developer area, or certain B2B offerings — they supplement this policy.

1. Controller and scope

This policy applies to all processing of personal data carried out by Yoon in connection with its websites, its mobile applications (Yoon and Yoon Pro), and related services, including contact forms, user accounts, driver accounts, developer accounts, technical logs, cookies, geolocation services, navigation features, messaging, live location sharing, the phone-number address directory, and ride services.

For the purposes of this policy, the terms "user", "you", and "your" refer to any person who visits the sites, uses the mobile application, or interacts with Yoon services.

2. Data collected

2.1 Data provided directly by the user

The following data may be collected when you create an account, fill out a form, or voluntarily use a feature of the Yoon services:

  • Identification and contact information: last name, first name, username, email address, phone number (verified with a one-time code), preferred language, and hashed password.
  • Sign-in with Google or Apple: if you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive from that provider your name, your email address (or the private relay address Apple creates for you), and an account identifier. With Google, your Google profile photo becomes your Yoon profile picture, which you can change or remove. With Apple, we keep a token that lets us revoke Yoon's access to your Apple ID when you delete your account.
  • Account and profile information: profile picture, display preferences, navigation settings, favorites, or other preferences linked to the Yoon account.
  • Driver application data (Yoon Pro): phone number, driving-licence number, vehicle make, model, colour, year, registration plate, and seat count; copies of the documents required to drive on the platform — identity card, driving licence, vehicle registration, insurance certificate, and road-tax sticker (vignette) — with their expiry dates, and optionally a photo of the vehicle; and three photos of your face (facing the camera, turned left, turned right) taken in the app. Yoon staff review the documents and compare the face photos with your identity documents by eye before a driver account is approved. No automated facial recognition is used and no biometric template is created.
  • Exchanged content: messages submitted through a contact form, support requests, and, in Yoon Pro, your support conversation with our team (text, photos, and voice notes), as well as comments, content reports, or survey responses.
  • Contributed map content: addresses, places, businesses, points of interest, edits, photos, and edit suggestions you submit to improve the map. These contributions are linked to your account and, once validated, become part of the publicly accessible map.
  • Developer-area data: name or business name, role, professional email address, developer ID, API keys, billing or payment information where applicable.
  • Top-up claims (Yoon and Yoon Pro): when you report a wallet top-up paid outside the app, the amount, the currency, the payment reference, an optional note, the phone number the money was sent from if you give it, and a photo of the receipt if you add one. The claim, without the receipt photo, is sent by email to our team so it can be checked.

2.2 Data collected automatically on the sites and in the app

When you browse the sites or use the Yoon mobile application, certain data is collected automatically to ensure the operation, security, and improvement of the services.

Such data may include:

  • Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, device model, technical identifiers, application version, and session identifier.
  • Log data: pages or screens viewed, date and time of access, referring URL, duration of visit, performance, technical errors, and crash logs.
  • Feature-usage data: address search, map viewing, route calculation, favorites, navigation activation, or interactions with the mapping services.
  • Edit-history data: for contributions and edits to map content, we retain a versioned audit trail (including the change itself, the author's account ID, IP address, user agent, and timestamp) to support moderation, rollback, and abuse prevention.
  • Cookies and similar technologies on the websites: only those strictly necessary for the sites to work, such as remembering the language you chose (see section 4).

2.3 Location and navigation data

If you enable geolocation features, Yoon may process approximate or precise location data from your device, depending on the permissions granted and your device settings.

Such data may include:

  • The current position of the device.
  • The start and end points of a route.
  • Intermediate waypoints, trips taken, and navigation requests.
  • Ride locations: the pickup and drop-off points of a trip, the route driven and, for drivers, the position of the device while the driver is online and during a trip.
  • Map search queries, such as addresses, points of interest, and places viewed.
  • Shared routes and locations: if you share a route or location using the share feature, the origin, destination, and any waypoints are encoded into a public link that anyone with the link can view.
  • Live location sharing: if you share your live location, your device sends its position, heading, and speed to our servers for the duration you choose (from 15 minutes to 8 hours). Anyone with the share link — or the members of the group you share it with — can follow it until the share ends or you stop it. Only the latest position is kept, for about 90 seconds; no history of shared positions is stored.

Geolocation data is personal data, because it can allow a person to be identified or their movements inferred.

2.4 Mobile app permissions

On mobile, the application may request access to certain device features, only when necessary for the requested service.

Depending on the features activated, this may include:

  • Location, to display your position, guide navigation and, in Yoon Pro, receive nearby ride requests. Yoon Pro additionally requests background ("Always") location so that ride requests keep arriving and the rider keeps seeing the driver approach while the screen is locked; background collection only runs while the driver is online and stops as soon as the driver goes offline. Yoon uses background location only while you are sharing your live location, so that the people following you keep seeing you while your screen is locked; it stops when the share ends.
  • Push notifications, to send service-related alerts or information.
  • Camera and photo library, to photograph and attach documents, take the face-check photos in Yoon Pro, attach photos to messages or support conversations, set a profile picture, use a visual reporting feature, or scan a Yoon QR code.
  • Microphone, to record voice notes in messages, ride chats, and support conversations, and to carry your voice during a call in the app. Audio is recorded only while you are recording a note; a call is never recorded.
  • Contacts (Yoon), only when you choose to find people you know in Messages (see section 2.8).
  • Storage, if you save, import, or export certain content.
  • On Android, for calls in the app: showing an incoming call on the full screen and using a Bluetooth headset during a call.

Access to these permissions can be granted, limited, or denied through your device settings, and some permissions can be disabled without fully preventing use of the application, depending on the features concerned.

2.5 Developer and API-usage data

When you use developer.oolelmaps.com, Yoon may also collect data relating to API usage and technical services.

This may include:

  • Developer ID, organization, roles, and professional contact details.
  • API keys, request volumes, error logs, IP address of calling servers, and security indicators.
  • Contractual and billing data, where a paid plan is taken out.

2.6 Ride services data (Yoon riders and Yoon Pro)

When you request a trip in Yoon or carry out trips with Yoon Pro, Yoon processes the data needed to connect riders and drivers, complete the trip, and handle payment, ratings, and disputes.

This may include:

  • Ride records: pickup and drop-off locations, the recommended fare, the price proposed by the rider and any counter-offer from the driver, the agreed fare, any promo code applied, the payment method, timestamps, the status of the trip, and the reason for a cancellation.
  • Information shared between rider and driver during a trip: the rider sees the driver's name, photo (also shown on the driver's offer), vehicle make, model, colour, and registration plate, rating, and live position; the driver sees the rider's name, photo (once the trip is matched), pickup and drop-off points, and rating. Each party's phone number is made available to the other only for the duration of the trip so they can reach each other. The Call button places a call in the app, described in section 2.16, or, where calls in the app are not available, opens the phone's own dialer; Yoon records neither kind of call. A person someone booked a ride for and a parcel's recipient are not called in the app, even if they use Yoon: they and the driver reach each other through the phone's own dialer.
  • Ratings and comments exchanged after a trip, from the rider about the driver and from the driver about the rider.
  • Driver operational data: online/offline status, position updates while online (used to dispatch nearby requests and shown to the rider during a trip), acceptance and cancellation history, and the number of trips completed.
  • Wallet and driver earnings data: your wallet balance, one personal balance per currency shared by Yoon and Yoon Pro, whether or not you drive (the wallet of a delivery business is separate); the commission deducted on each completed trip; carpool commissions and their returns, and any starting credit; top-ups and top-up claims (amount, method, payment reference, status and, for claims, the details described in section 2.1); and the full transaction history. If you add the Yoon Pro widget to your home screen, it shows your status, today's earnings, and your wallet balance; on iOS these amounts are hidden on the Lock Screen.
  • Verification outcome: the approval, refusal, or suspension decision recorded by Yoon staff after reviewing a driver's documents, and the reason given.
  • Ride chat: the rider and the driver of a trip can exchange text messages, quick replies, and voice notes while the trip is live and for 24 hours after it is completed; a cancelled trip closes it at once. A call in the app adds a line to the chat, showing how it ended and how long it lasted. Voice notes are deleted 90 days after the trip; text is kept with the ride record. Notifications about a new ride message show its text. Yoon staff can read a ride's chat to handle support requests, disputes, and safety reports; every such access is logged.
  • Start PIN: in areas where it is enabled, the driver enters a 4-digit code shown only to the rider to start the trip. The code is stored with the ride.
  • Rides booked for someone else: a rider may book a ride for another person and give us that person's name and, if they choose, phone number. The driver sees that person's name, and sees their phone number only while the ride is live; the name remains in the driver's trip history. The rider sends the person a private link that shows the driver's first name, photo, vehicle and registration plate, the driver's position on a map, the pickup and drop-off points, the driver's phone number while the ride is live, the trip PIN and the fare; the link stops working 30 minutes after the ride. The rider is responsible for the ride and for having that person's agreement to share their details.

2.7 Messages (Yoon)

Yoon lets you exchange messages with other users, one to one and in groups of up to 50 members. When you use Messages, we process:

  • Content: text, photos, voice notes, and the places, pins, routes, meeting points, and live locations you share in a conversation or add to a group's map.
  • How it is protected: messages are encrypted in transit between your device and our servers, and photos and voice notes are kept in private storage, but messages are not end-to-end encrypted: they are stored on our servers.
  • Staff access: Yoon staff do not read your conversations. When a conversation or message is reported, an authorized administrator can read the conversation's most recent messages to handle the report; every such access is logged.
  • What others see: the people you write to and the members of your groups see your name and profile picture, never your phone number. The people you write to see when you have received and read their messages.
  • Online status: the people you have a one-to-one conversation with can see whether you are online and when you were last active. This is on by default; you can turn it off in Account settings → Privacy ("Show when I'm online"), in which case you also stop seeing theirs.
  • Requests, blocking, and reports: a first message from someone you have not talked to arrives as a request. You can block a person, which hides your conversations from each other and stops new messages, and you can report a conversation or a message with a reason and an optional comment.
  • Invite links and QR codes: your personal invite link or QR code shows your name and profile picture to anyone who has it; a group's link shows the group's name, photo, and number of members. Links do not expire until you, or a group's owner or administrator, reset them.
  • Retention: messages are kept for as long as the conversation exists; sent messages cannot currently be edited or deleted. When your account is deleted, the photos and voice notes you sent are deleted, and your text messages remain in the other participants' conversations without your name or account.

2.8 Finding people you know (Yoon)

If you choose to find people you know in Messages and allow access to your contacts, the app reads the phone numbers in your device's address book — not the names or photos — and sends them to our servers, where they are compared with the verified phone numbers of Yoon users who allow it. The numbers are used only for that comparison: they are not stored and are not used for any other purpose. The app then shows you which of your contacts use Yoon, with their name and profile picture.

Other people can find you this way only if your phone number is verified and "Let people who have my number find me" is on. It is on by default; you can turn it off at any time in Account settings → Privacy.

2.9 Phone-number address directory (Yoon)

  • You can link a verified phone number to your address or to a location, with an optional label. A link is private by default.
  • If you make a link discoverable, anyone signed in to Yoon, and developers authorized to use this feature through our API, can find that address or location by entering your phone number. Your name and account are never shown. You can make it private again or remove it at any time in Account settings → My address numbers.
  • To prevent abuse, lookups are limited and each lookup is recorded for 90 days: a one-way hash of the number searched, the kind of caller (the app or an API), the result, and the time. You can see when your number was found and whether it was through the app or an API, but not who looked it up.
  • Removing a link stops lookups at once; the inactive link is kept for audit and deleted with your account. If another person verifies the same number, your links for it stop working.

2.10 Phone number verification

To verify a phone number, we send a one-time code by WhatsApp or, if you ask for it, by SMS, through a messaging provider (currently Twilio or Infobip), which receives your phone number and the code. Codes expire after 10 minutes. A record of each verification attempt (number, channel, status, and time) is kept with your account and deleted with it.

2.11 Traffic data (optional)

Where available, and only if you turn on "Contribute to traffic data", the app sends GPS points (position, speed, heading, and accuracy) while you navigate, tagged with a random identifier for that trip only and not linked to your account. Within minutes they are turned into average speeds per road segment; the raw points are then discarded and the averages are kept for 90 days to show and predict traffic.

2.12 Carpool data (Yoon)

When you use carpooling in Yoon, publish a trip, or book a seat, Yoon processes the data needed to connect drivers and passengers, carry out the trip, and handle ratings, reports, and disputes. Carpooling is separate from the ride services, apart from the personal wallet described in section 2.6; a member who wants to drive goes through the same driver verification as Yoon Pro, and one approval covers both.

This may include:

  • Contact phone: to book a seat you need a contact phone number on your account; a driver's contact number is the one given in the driver application. It is shared as described below.
  • Driver verification: the data collected for the driver application (licence number, vehicle details, identity, licence, registration, insurance, and road-tax documents, face-check photos, and the decision recorded by Yoon staff) is described in sections 2.1 and 2.6. Each time you publish a trip, Yoon checks that your required documents are still in date.
  • Trips you publish: the departure city, intermediate stops, and destination; the meeting point at each stop (a map pin and an optional label you type) and the planned time; the seats offered; the price for each part of the trip; whether bookings are confirmed immediately or by request; your preferences (smoking, pets, luggage); an optional note; the distance and duration of each part, calculated with our routing service; your vehicle's make, model, colour, and plate as they were when you published; and the status of the trip, with who cancelled it and the reason if you gave one.
  • Bookings and requests: the two stops you book between, the number of seats, the price, an optional message to the driver, the status, who declined or cancelled and any reason given, no-show marks, and a timeline of events that holds identifiers and statuses only.
  • What others see: anyone who opens a trip, including a visitor who is not signed in or who follows a shared link on the web, sees the cities, times, price, seats left, the make, model, and colour of the vehicle, the preferences, the note, and the driver's first name and last initial, picture, rating, number of trips driven, member-since date, and reliability figures (late cancellations and no-shows). Signed-in members also see the meeting points, their labels, and the route. The driver's phone number and vehicle plate are shown only to a passenger with a confirmed booking, and a passenger's phone number only to the driver of that booking, from confirmation until 24 hours after drop-off. A passenger's carpool rating, number of trips taken, and reviews are shown only to that passenger and to a driver who holds their request or booking.
  • Reviews: after a completed trip, each side can give the other 1 to 5 stars and a comment of up to 500 characters within 14 days. A review is published once both sides have reviewed or the 14 days have passed. The reviews about a member as a driver, and their average, appear on their public carpool profile.
  • Reports and suspensions: you can report a trip, a booking, or a review with a reason and an optional note of up to 1,000 characters, and block the member at the same time. Authorized Yoon administrators review reports, can hide reviews, cancel trips and bookings, and suspend a member's access to carpooling; every such action is logged.
  • Trip conversations: questions to a driver and booking updates take place in a Messages conversation tied to the trip, subject to section 2.7. Yoon adds automatic cards to it (request received, confirmed, declined, expired, cancelled). It stays open for writing for a limited time after the trip and is closed at once if the trip is cancelled.
  • Trip alerts: if you ask to be told when a trip is published for a search (departure city, destination city, and date), Yoon keeps that alert and notifies you; you can have up to 10 active alerts, and an alert whose date has passed is deleted automatically.
  • Search statistics: searches are counted per day and per pair of cities, without any link to you, to understand where trips are needed.
  • Notifications: reminders 24 hours and 2 hours before a trip or a booking, and push notifications and inbox entries about requests, decisions, cancellations, reviews, alert matches, and your driver verification, delivered as described in section 5.
  • Payment and commission: carpool trips are paid in cash directly to the driver, and the fare never passes through Yoon or the wallet; Yoon keeps a record of the price agreed on the booking. In a country where Yoon charges a commission on carpool bookings, each booking also keeps the rate and amount of each side's commission and when it was taken or returned, and these movements appear in your wallet (see section 2.6). Each person sees only their own commission; authorized Yoon staff see both.
  • Location: Yoon does not collect your live position for carpooling; meeting points are fixed points chosen by the driver. If you choose to share your live location in a trip conversation, section 2.7 applies.
  • Account deletion: when you request deletion, your open trips and live bookings are cancelled and the people concerned are told. When the deletion is carried out, your carpool alerts, reviews, reports, and suspension record are deleted, and the trips and bookings that remain in other members' history are separated from your account (see section 7).

2.13 Real estate listings (Yoon)

Yoon lets you publish, browse, and save real estate listings and request visits. When you use these features, we process:

  • Listings you publish: the type of property, whether it is for sale or for rent, its use, price, area, rooms, description, photos, availability, and location (a lot you pick on the plan, with its Yoon address, or a point you place on the map). Once approved, a listing is public: anyone, signed in or not, can see the property, its photos, its price, and how you are presented (private owner, verified broker, or verified agency, and an agency's name) on the map, in Yoon, and on the listing's web page. Your display name and profile photo are shown in Yoon, including to people who are not signed in, and never on the listing's web page.
  • Your phone number: the phone number of your account is the contact number of your listings. It is shown to people who are signed in to Yoon when they open a listing, so that they can call or write to you; it is never shown to signed-out visitors, nor on the listing's web page. Where calls in the app are available, people who are signed in can also call you in the app (see section 2.16).
  • Visit requests and messages: when someone asks to visit, we process the proposed date and time, an optional note, and the state of the request; the poster sees the requester's name, never their phone number. Messages about a listing are handled as described in section 2.7.
  • Saved listings, reports, and views: the listings you save are linked to your account; a report you send about a listing (a reason and an optional note) is read only by Yoon staff; and Yoon counts how many times each listing is opened per day; to count each viewer once, it keeps a record of the account, the app install or the network address for that day.
  • Verification documents (brokers and agencies): if you apply for a verified broker or verified agency badge, you send your display name or your agency's name. A broker sends an identity document (national identity card or passport) and may add a professional card; an agency sends its commercial register or tax-number document and its manager's identity document. These images or PDF files are stored in private storage and are never public. They are seen only by authorized Yoon administrators who review the application, through short-lived private links, and they are used only to decide on the application. They are kept for as long as your account exists and are deleted with it. An agency may also add its logo, which is not a verification document: it is shown with its listings in Yoon.
  • Find a broker (approved brokers and agencies): your name, profile photo or agency logo, badge, the bio, years of experience and languages you add, and your listings on the market are shown in Find a broker in Yoon and on a public web page, including to people who are not signed in, until you switch the directory off. Your phone number is shown only to signed-in users, never on the web page. Your profile is kept as long as your verification and deleted with your account.
  • Agency teams (the brokers of an agency, and its manager): the name each broker of a team chooses and their account photo, the manager's included, are shown on the agency's page in Yoon and on a public web page, including to people who are not signed in, for as long as the broker is in the team; a broker chooses the name to show when joining and can change it. The phone number of every broker of a team, the manager's included, is shown to signed-in users of Yoon on their page in the agency, and never on the web. The agency's manager sees the listings the team's brokers post under the agency and the visit requests on them, never their messages. When a manager invites a broker, the number the manager typed is kept with the invitation, which the manager sees with its date and state, and never with the invited person's name, photo, or account until they accept; the number is deleted with the invitation, which is removed when the account of the agency's manager or of the person invited is permanently deleted. To prevent abuse, an agency may try at most 40 different numbers a day: the numbers tried are counted only as keyed pseudonyms (the numbers themselves are not stored), and the count is deleted after two days at most.

2.14 Parcel deliveries (Yoon and Yoon Pro)

When a sender books a parcel delivery in Yoon, or a driver carries one with Yoon Pro, Yoon processes the data needed to carry the parcel, prove the pickup and the hand-over, and handle problems.

This includes:

  • Recipient details: the sender gives us the recipient's name and phone number, and may add a note for the driver. These are details about someone who may not use Yoon, and the sender is responsible for having that person's agreement to share them. Once a driver has accepted the delivery, they see the recipient's name and the note, and see the phone number only while the delivery is live; the name and the note remain in the driver's trip history until they are erased (see section 7). Yoon staff can see these details to handle problems.
  • Pickup photo: the driver photographs the parcel at pickup. The photo is stored privately, without its metadata, and is shown only to the sender and to Yoon staff, through links that expire after a few minutes.
  • Tracking link: the sender can send the recipient a private link that opens a web page, without installing Yoon. The page shows the sender's first name, the recipient's name, the drop-off point, the driver's first name, the vehicle's type, make, model, colour and registration plate, the driver's position on the map, the expected arrival time, the drop-off code and, while the delivery is live, the driver's phone number; if the parcel is brought back, it also shows the pickup point. Anyone who has the link can see the page and the code; the link stops working 30 minutes after the delivery ends, or as soon as the sender's account is deleted.
  • Drop-off code: a 4-digit code that the recipient gives the driver to confirm the hand-over. It is stored with the delivery and shown to the sender and on the tracking page; the driver never sees it, and five wrong tries lock it, after which the sender can confirm the hand-over in Yoon.
  • Notice to a recipient who uses Yoon: if the recipient's phone number is a verified number on a Yoon account that can be found by phone number, that account is not the sender's, and neither side has blocked the other, that account receives a notification, with the sender's first name, that a parcel is on its way. The sender is never told whether the recipient uses Yoon.

2.15 Car rental (Yoon)

Yoon lets agencies verified by Yoon list cars for rent, and lets members find a car, ask its agency for it on the dates they choose, and review each other after the rental. Yoon is not a party to the rental and processes no payment for it. When you use car rental, we process:

  • Agency applications: the agency's name, its contact phone number, its logo if it adds one, and two documents: its commercial register and its manager's identity document. These two documents are stored in private storage and are never public. They are seen only by authorized Yoon administrators who review the application, through short-lived private links, and they are used only to decide on it; the manager sees which documents were sent and when. They are kept for as long as the manager's account exists and are deleted with it.
  • Cars: each car's make, model, year, seats, gearbox, fuel, air conditioning, and body type, its photos, its prices (per day, week, and month, for a driver and for delivery, and the deposit), the papers a renter must bring, whether it may leave the city, an optional note, its city and pick-up point (a label and a map location), the days the agency blocks, its plate, and its registration card and insurance certificate, with the date the insurance ends. Once approved, a car is public: anyone, signed in or not, can see the car, its photos, prices, and pick-up point, and its agency's name, logo, rating, and number of completed rentals, in Yoon and on the car's web page. The plate is never shown there. The registration card and the insurance certificate are handled like the agency's documents: private, seen only by authorized Yoon administrators through short-lived private links, kept for as long as the manager's account exists and deleted with it.
  • Requests and bookings: to ask for a car you need a phone number on your account. We process the dates and times you choose, whether you want a driver, the delivery place if you ask for delivery (a label and a map location), an optional note to the agency, the estimate, the state of the request or booking, any other dates the agency proposes, who declined or cancelled it and the reason given, no-show marks, and a timeline of events that holds identifiers, dates, and statuses only.
  • What an agency sees of a renter: when you send a request, the agency's team sees it with your account name and photo, the date you joined Yoon, how many rentals you completed and missed, your rating as a renter, and the latest reviews agencies wrote about you. Agencies you have not sent a request to never see them.
  • Phone numbers and the plate: the agency's contact number and the car's plate are shown to the renter, and the renter's phone number to the agency's team, only once the booking is confirmed and until 24 hours after the return. They are never shown on a request that has not been confirmed. They stop being shown if the booking is cancelled or the renter is marked as a no-show. The agency's contact number is the one given in its application, never a team member's own number.
  • Reviews: after a completed rental, each side can give the other 1 to 5 stars and a comment of up to 500 characters within 14 days of the return. A review is published once both sides have reviewed or the 14 days have passed. Reviews of an agency are public, signed with the renter's first name, and make up the rating shown with its cars. Reviews of a renter are signed with the agency's name and are shown only to the agencies the renter sends a request to.
  • Agency teams: an agency's manager can invite people to its team by the phone number of their Yoon account. The number the manager typed is kept with the invitation, which is deleted when the invited person's account is deleted; the person invited sees the agency's name and its manager's name. The manager sees the account name and photo of each team member. Every member of the team sees the agency's cars, requests, and bookings. To prevent abuse, an agency may try at most 40 different numbers a day: the numbers tried are counted only as keyed pseudonyms (the numbers themselves are not stored), and the count is deleted after two days at most.
  • Messages, reports, and suspensions: questions to an agency take place in a Messages conversation with its manager, subject to section 2.7. You can report a car or an agency, and an agency can report the renter of one of its bookings, with a reason and an optional note of up to 500 characters. Reports are read only by authorized Yoon administrators, who can take a car down, revoke an agency's verification, hide reviews, cancel bookings, and suspend a renter; every such action is logged.
  • Notifications: push notifications and inbox entries about requests, answers, cancellations, pick-ups and returns, reviews, the team, and the review of the agency, its cars, and their insurance, delivered as described in section 5.
  • Payment: the rental is paid directly to the agency, as agreed between the renter and the agency. Yoon processes no payment or deposit for car rental and keeps only the prices and the estimate shown on the booking.
  • Account deletion: when you request deletion, your open requests are withdrawn, your bookings that have not started are cancelled, you leave any team, and an agency you manage closes, its renters being told. When the deletion is carried out, your bookings as a renter, the reviews you wrote and received, and any suspension record are deleted, and the reports you filed are kept without your name or note; an agency you managed loses its documents, its cars' papers, and its contact number, but its name, logo, cars, bookings, and the reviews its renters wrote about it stay so that its renters keep their history (see section 7).

2.16 Calls in the app (Yoon and Yoon Pro)

Where your version of the app offers it, you can call another Yoon account by voice over the internet, in the situations listed below. Where your version of the app does not offer calls, a Call button opens the phone's own dialer instead, with the phone number made available to you under the sections above: that call goes through your operator, and Yoon keeps no record of a call made that way.

Calls in the app work as follows:

  • Calls on a ride: the rider (including a person who booked it for someone else or who sent the parcel) and the driver, from the match until 24 hours after the trip is completed, and not once it is cancelled. On a delivery ordered by a business, only the business can start a call, and the driver sees the business's name, with no photo.
  • Calls in carpooling: the driver and a passenger with a confirmed booking, for as long as their phone numbers are available to each other (see section 2.12); passengers cannot call each other.
  • Calls in Messages: two members of a one-to-one conversation, but not a request or a group, nor a conversation opened from a place page, and not if either has blocked the other.
  • Calls about a listing: any signed-in member can call the poster of a public listing, and the poster can call back from the listing's conversation while the listing is public, unless either has blocked the other.
  • Calls in car rental: the renter and the agency of a confirmed booking, for as long as their contact details are available to each other (see section 2.15); the renter's call rings the agency's manager, and a team member calls in the agency's name.
  • What the other person sees: your name and profile photo on the incoming call, including on the lock screen, and your role where there is one (for example "Your driver"). A call in the app does not show your phone number.
  • The call record: who called whom, and on which ride, carpool booking, conversation, listing, or car booking; the app used on each side; when the call started, rang, was answered, connected, and ended; how long it lasted; how it ended, and who ended it; and an identifier of the app installation that answered.
  • What remains in the app: a line in the ride chat or in the conversation concerned, which both people see, showing how the call ended and how long it lasted; and, for the person called, a notification when a call to them was missed, and also when the caller cancelled it or when they were busy or could not be reached.
  • The audio: Yoon neither records nor stores the audio of a call. It travels encrypted between the two phones, directly or, when a direct path fails, through a relay run by Cloudflare, which passes on encrypted audio that it cannot read. That relay may be outside your country (see section 6).
  • Connection details: to set up a call, the two phones exchange technical details, including their IP addresses, through Yoon's servers, which pass them on without keeping them. On a direct path, each phone can see the other's IP address. Cloudflare handles IP addresses, ports, and session times to run the connection service and the relay.
  • Your phones: each phone you use registers, for each app, a token to ring it, its platform and language, and an installation identifier (see section 7 for how long). Ring pushes are sent as described in section 5.
  • Staff access: authorized Yoon staff can see a call on the timeline of a ride, a carpool booking, or a car-rental booking to handle support requests, disputes, and reports, and see its line when they read a ride's chat or a reported conversation (see sections 2.6 and 2.7).

3. Legal bases and purposes

The personal-data processing carried out by Yoon relies on different legal bases, depending on context and applicable regulation.

3.1 Performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps

Some data is necessary to:

  • Create and manage your user or developer account.
  • Provide the mapping, navigation, geolocation, and API services.
  • Provide the ride services: match riders with drivers, calculate fares, share the information needed to complete a trip, and manage driver earnings, the wallet, and top-ups.
  • Provide carpooling: let drivers publish trips and passengers search, book, and message, share the information needed to complete a booked trip, run ratings and trip alerts, and, where Yoon charges a commission, manage the wallet, commissions, their returns, and top-ups.
  • Manage the customer or developer relationship, including support, billing, and request tracking.
  • Provide messaging, voice calls, contact finding, live location sharing, and the phone-number address directory when you use them.
  • Provide the real estate service: publish listings, show them to other users, handle visit requests, and review listings and verification applications.
  • Provide car rental: let agencies list cars and members ask for them, share the information needed to complete a confirmed booking, and run reviews.

Such processing is based on the performance of the contract or on pre-contractual steps taken at your request.

3.2 Yoon's legitimate interests

Some processing is necessary for the legitimate interests of Yoon, in particular to:

  • Ensure the security of the sites, app, accounts, and APIs, and prevent fraud, abuse, or attacks.
  • Improve the services, ergonomics, performance, and quality of mapping data through aggregated and statistical analysis.
  • Protect and defend Yoon's rights in the event of a dispute, claim, or proceeding.
  • Handle reports of messages, conversations, and rides, and prevent abuse of messaging and of the phone-number directory.
  • Handle reports of carpool trips, bookings, and reviews, and keep carpooling reliable by recording late cancellations and no-shows.
  • Prevent fraud in real estate listings: review listings and reports, and check the documents of the brokers and agencies that ask for a badge.
  • Prevent fraud in car rental: check the documents of agencies and the papers of their cars, handle reports, and record no-shows.

Such processing is carried out with due regard for your rights and freedoms, with appropriate minimization and protection measures.

3.3 Consent

Prior consent may be required for some processing, in particular non-strictly-necessary cookies or trackers, certain personalization features, sending marketing communications by email or notification, and certain non-essential uses of location.

When consent is required, it may be withdrawn at any time, without retroactive effect, through the settings provided or through device settings where applicable.

3.4 Compliance with legal obligations

Some processing may be required by law, in particular to meet accounting, tax, security, or data-retention obligations, or to respond to requests from competent authorities.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

The Yoon websites use only cookies and similar storage that are strictly necessary for them to work, such as remembering the language you chose. We do not use advertising, audience-measurement, or personalization cookies, so no consent banner is shown.

To detect and fix errors, the websites and apps use an error-monitoring service (Sentry). When an error occurs on a website, a replay of the moments leading up to it may be recorded, with all text, form inputs, and images masked.

If we introduce non-essential cookies in the future, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy. You can also manage cookies at any time through your browser settings.

5. Recipients and processors

Personal data may be disclosed, on a need-to-know basis, to authorized Yoon staff and to the providers that help us run the services, in particular: cloud hosting and file storage (including Cloudflare), the relay and connection service for calls (Cloudflare), push-notification delivery (Expo, Apple, and Google), messaging providers for verification codes (Twilio, Infobip), email delivery (Resend), error monitoring (Sentry), sign-in providers (Google, Apple), and payment, mobile-money, or billing solutions (in particular to process wallet top-ups). It may also be disclosed to commercial or institutional partners where necessary for the requested service or authorized by you. In the ride services, the rider and the driver of a trip receive each other's data as described in section 2.6; in carpooling, the driver and the passengers of a trip receive each other's data as described in section 2.12, and anyone who opens a trip sees the public information described there; in Messages and the phone-number directory, other users receive the data described in sections 2.7 to 2.9; and in a call in the app, the other person receives the data described in section 2.16.

In real estate listings, the people who open a published listing receive the data described in section 2.13; verification documents are seen only by authorized Yoon administrators.

In car rental, anyone who opens a car receives the public information described in section 2.15, and the agency and the renter of a booking receive each other's data as described there; agency documents and car papers are seen only by authorized Yoon administrators.

Map tile requests made from the application or website may be served through a content-delivery or tile-hosting provider, which may log technical request metadata (such as IP address and user agent) for security and abuse-prevention purposes.

Push notifications are delivered through Apple or Google. A notification about a new message may show the sender's name and the beginning of the message (the full text for a ride message). You can turn notifications off in your device settings. To ring your phone for a call, Apple or Google deliver a push that carries the caller's name, a link to their profile photo, and their role where there is one.

Data may also be disclosed to administrative, regulatory, or judicial authorities where required by law or to defend a right in court.

Where providers act on behalf of Yoon, appropriate contractual commitments govern the confidentiality, security, and compliance of processing.

6. Transfers outside your country

Data may be hosted and processed in different countries, notably where the servers, teams, or providers of Yoon are located.

Where applicable regulation requires it, appropriate safeguards are put in place to frame any data transfer to a country outside your jurisdiction, for example through standard contractual clauses or other recognized mechanisms.

You can obtain further information on such transfers by contacting Yoon at the details shown at the end of this policy.

7. Retention periods

Personal data is retained only for the time necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, extended where applicable by legal limitation or archiving periods.

By way of indication:

  • Account data is retained as long as the account is active, then archived or deleted after a period of inactivity, subject to legal obligations.
  • When a user requests account deletion (from inside the mobile application or by email), the account enters a 30-day grace window during which the user can cancel the request by signing back in to the mobile application and tapping "Keep my account" (Yoon) or "Cancel account deletion" (Yoon Pro). After 30 days, the account is permanently deleted: private account data is erased — including the profile, saved places, phone numbers and their address links, driver documents and face-check photos, top-up receipts, support conversations, and the photos and voice notes the user sent; public contributions to the map are kept without attribution; text messages the user sent remain in the other participants' conversations and in ride records without the user's name or account; any credit left in the wallet is lost; and ride, wallet, and accounting records are kept without identifying the user, together with a minimal audit trail required for moderation, rollback, and legal compliance.
  • Technical and security logs are retained for a limited period, as needed for security and abuse prevention.
  • Location data used for navigation is retained for the time necessary to provide the service, then deleted, anonymized, or aggregated where possible.
  • Contribution audit history (versions of edits, the identity of the contributor, and associated technical metadata) is retained for as long as the underlying map content exists, to preserve the integrity and auditability of the map.
  • Driver verification documents (identity card, driving licence, vehicle registration, insurance) are retained for as long as the driver account is active and for the period needed to demonstrate that verification was carried out, then deleted.
  • Ride records, ratings, and wallet transactions, carpool commissions and their returns included, are retained for as long as needed to handle disputes, fraud prevention, and accounting obligations. A driver's live position is held only transiently while the driver is online; after a trip, only the route recorded on the ride is kept.
  • Carpool trips and their bookings are kept, with their event history, as part of the travel history of the members concerned and to handle disputes, reports, and safety issues. Reports are kept for as long as needed to handle them and to protect members.
  • When an account is deleted, its carpool alerts, the reviews it wrote and received, the reports it filed, and any carpool suspension record are deleted; the trips and bookings that remain are no longer linked to the account, and the vehicle details, notes, cancellation reasons, meeting-point labels, and booking messages on them are erased.
  • Real estate listings: a published listing that is available or reserved stays online for 90 days unless its poster renews it. A sold or rented listing leaves the public map after 30 days, but its page still opens from a shared link until the poster takes the listing down or deletes the account. Listings and their photos, visit requests, and saved listings are deleted when the account is deleted. Agency listings held by a broker in an agency's team, and their photos, are the exception to the last two sentences: they are not deleted with the account but stay with the agency, which can take them down (see the account deletion page).
  • Verification documents of brokers and agencies (identity documents, professional card, commercial register): kept for as long as the account exists and deleted with it.
  • Car rental: requests and bookings are kept, with their timeline, as part of the history of the renter and the agency, and to handle disputes and reports. When a renter's account is deleted, their bookings, the reviews they wrote and received, and any car-rental suspension record are deleted, and the reports they filed are kept without their name or note. When the account of an agency's manager is deleted, the agency's documents and its cars' papers are deleted and its contact number is erased; the agency, its cars and their photos, its bookings, and the reviews its renters wrote about it are kept so that its renters keep their history.
  • Car-rental agency documents and car papers (commercial register, manager's identity document, registration cards, insurance certificates): kept for as long as the manager's account exists and deleted with it.
  • Messages are kept for as long as the conversation exists (see section 2.7). In ride chats, voice notes are deleted 90 days after the trip and text is kept with the ride record.
  • In-app notifications are kept for 90 days; devices registered for push notifications are removed after 90 days without use. Phones registered to ring for calls have no such age limit: one is removed when you sign out on that phone while it is connected, when your sessions on every device are ended (for example when you change your password), when Apple or Google reports that its token is no longer valid, when another account registers the same phone, when you register more than 10 phones for one app, or when your account is deleted.
  • Records of phone-number lookups in the address directory and traffic averages are kept for 90 days.
  • Driver face-check photos are kept until they are replaced by a new check or the account is deleted; support conversations are kept for as long as the account exists.
  • The phone number of a person a rider booked a ride for: erased 90 days after the ride, or when the rider's account is permanently deleted (after the 30-day grace window described above).
  • Parcel deliveries: the recipient's name and phone number and the note for the driver are erased 90 days after the delivery ends, and the pickup photo is deleted at the same time. When an account is permanently deleted (after the 30-day grace window described above), the pickup photos of every delivery it sent or carried are deleted, and the recipient's details of the deliveries it sent are erased at once, except on a parcel already on its way, whose details are kept until the delivery ends so that the driver can hand it over. The delivery record itself (size, fare, stages and outcome) is kept without identifying the sender, as for rides.
  • Calls in the app: the call record (see section 2.16) is kept, for now with no fixed end date, as part of the history of the ride, carpool trip, conversation, listing, or car booking, and to handle disputes, reports, and safety issues. A call's line stays with the ride chat or the conversation. Yoon never keeps the audio. When an account is permanently deleted, any call still live ends, the account is removed from its calls, and its phones registered to ring are deleted; the other person's record and the call lines stay, without the account's name.
  • Data needed to comply with legal obligations or manage a dispute may be retained for the period required by law or until the dispute is resolved.

8. Your rights

In accordance with applicable regulation, you may, where relevant, have the following rights over your personal data: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, portability, and withdrawal of consent where the processing relies on it.

Where data has been integrated into the publicly accessible map as a community contribution, exercising the right to erasure may result in the contribution being de-linked from your account rather than fully removed, in order to preserve the integrity of the shared map.

You can exercise your right to erasure directly from the mobile applications: in Yoon, open Settings, tap your profile, then Account settings → "Delete account"; in Yoon Pro, open the Profile tab and tap "Delete account". A 30-day grace window applies: during this window the account is flagged for deletion, and you can cancel by signing back in and tapping "Keep my account" (Yoon) or "Cancel account deletion" (Yoon Pro). After 30 days, the account is permanently deleted as described in section 7. Ride, wallet, and accounting records that we are legally required to keep are retained after deletion without identifying you. If you have lost access to your account, you can request deletion by email to contact@oolelmaps.com; see the dedicated Delete account page for the full procedure.

Car-rental requests, bookings, reviews, and reports cannot be deleted one by one in the app: you can withdraw a request or cancel a booking, and an agency can take a car down. They are deleted, or kept without your name, when your account is deleted, as described in section 7 and on the Delete account page.

You can also control, at any time, whether people who have your number can find you in Messages and whether others can see when you are online (Account settings → Privacy), which phone numbers are linked to your addresses and whether they are discoverable (Account settings → My address numbers), and whether the app can access your location, contacts, camera, microphone, and notifications (your device settings).

You may also, depending on your jurisdiction, lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

9. Data security

Yoon implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, disclosure, or unauthorized access.

These measures may include encryption, pseudonymization, access management, strong authentication, security logging, and internal backup and incident-management procedures.

Users are invited to protect their credentials, use a strong password, and log out after use on shared devices.

10. Location-specific provisions

Where the Yoon application or services offer location-based features, their use may require activating certain permissions on your device.

In this context:

  • Enabling geolocation is optional when the feature is not essential to the requested service.
  • You can, depending on your device settings, authorize location only while using the app, always, or refuse it.
  • In Yoon Pro, background location is required to receive ride requests while you are online. You can stop all background collection at any time by going offline in the app, and you can withdraw the permission in your device settings, in which case ride requests are not delivered while the screen is locked.
  • In Yoon, background location is used only while you share your live location; the share ends at the time you chose, and you can stop it earlier at any time.
  • You can, depending on the available settings, limit the precision of location or fully disable access to position.
  • Location data may be used to provide the requested route, improve the quality of services, or offer personalization features, subject to your choices and legal requirements.

Yoon does not use automated decision-making producing legal effects concerning you based solely on profiling, unless specifically indicated otherwise and the required consents are obtained.

11. Third-party services

The sites and app may contain links to third-party sites, applications, SDKs, or services for which Yoon is not responsible.

This policy does not cover the privacy practices of such third parties. It is recommended to review their own policies before sharing personal data with them.

12. Children

The Yoon services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. The ride services and Yoon Pro are reserved for adults: riders and drivers must be at least 18 years old.

If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal data, contact us at contact@oolelmaps.com and we will delete it.

13. Changes to the policy

This policy may be amended to reflect changes in the services, legal obligations, or Yoon's data-protection practices.

In the event of a material change, the information may be communicated by any appropriate means — for example via the site, app, a notification, or an email — where required by regulation or deemed useful.
